Plumbing Emergency in Potts Point
Sophie strained under the weight of the large garbage bag she was carrying. It was a Monday, her day off, which was the designated day for getting everything done. The list of things requiring attention, today, was long and daunting.
She swept up her light brown hair into a messy bun as she could feel herself becoming flushed from the vigorous activity. Sophie carefully placed a stack of folded white towels into the linen cupboard and stood back to admire the display. She moved through each room briskly, picking up dirty clothing along the way and hauled it all towards the laundry. As she stepped into the room she gasped at the feeling of wetness at her feet. The floor was flooded. She quickly shoved the pile of clothes on top of the washing machine and ran back to the linen cupboard to grab some towels.
Armed with a handful of towels she laid them out to try and prevent the water from spreading. “What a disaster!” she said with annoyance. She looked around and noticed that the water was flowing from under her laundry sink. She remembered reading about turning off the main water supply so she went to do that.
With the stream of water, temporarily stopped, she turned on her laptop in readiness to find an emergency plumber in Potts Point, via the internet. She scrolled through various sites and links but only one stuck out in her mind. This group was available for emergency repairs in the Potts Point and Eastern Suburbs area as well as Woolloomooloo, Elizabeth Bay, Kings Cross and Rushcutters Bay. Sophie pulled her mobile from her pocket and dialled the contact number on screen. She went through her emergency situation with the person on the line and was so relieved when she heard that the plumber would arrive within the hour.
As promised, the Potts Point plumber arrived well within an hour with all the necessary tools required for the repair. He set to work immediately on the laundry pipe. Sophie nervously waited in the next room. She turned on the television but could barely concentrate do to her concern with laundry. She secretly hoped that it could be fixed today so she could continue with her washing. If she didn’t get it all done today, she wouldn’t have another chance for a while. She didn’t say anything, though, as she didn’t want to seem rude.
A short time later the Potts Point plumber announced that everything was back in order. Sophie was thrilled. She was astounded that he worked so efficiently and was very professional at the same time. She thanked the emergency plumber and then happily made her way back to the laundry to pick up where she left off. There was no time to rest, for her on a Monday!
